CFO projects · one fixed fee

A fixed fee to fix what the verdict found.

Not every business needs a CFO every month. If the free verdict points to specific problems, I quote the fix as one fixed fee, build it, hand it over and train your person to run it. You own everything it produces.

Most builds take four to six weeks. Quoted in full before you commit, never hourly.

What a project fixes

Scoped to your file, drawn from this list.

The verdict names which of these matter for your business and what each is worth. The quote covers those and nothing else.

01

Ledger restructure.

Margin visible by client, job or service line, straight from the accounts.

02

13-week cash forecast.

The squeeze visible eight to ten weeks before it hits, while there is still time to move.

03

Budget rebuild.

Built bottom-up from real capacity and real costs, so it holds when the year does not go to plan.

04

12-month integrated forecast.

Profit, cash and balance sheet together, with scenarios for hires, spend and pricing.

05

Monthly reporting pack and month end.

A pack you can act on by the 5th, and the month-end process that produces it.

06

Automation in the finance function.

Reconciliation, reporting and cash tracking that shouldn’t need a person, set up once and running without you.

How a project runs

Four steps. You know the full cost at step two.

  1. 01

    The free verdict.

Twenty minutes, then the written verdict within 24 hours. It names what’s worth fixing and what each fix is worth.

  2. 02

    One fixed quote.

On the walkthrough call. Scope sets the price, and you see the whole of it before you commit.

  3. 03

    The build.

Usually four to six weeks, from the file already reviewed. Nothing to gather twice.

  4. 04

    Handover.

The model and the pack are yours, and I train you or your person to run them.

After the build

Run it yourself, or keep me on as your CFO.

Some owners take what gets built and run it themselves. Others keep me on to run it with them, as their fractional CFO.

  • The monthly pack by the 5th, with what needs a decision
  • The forecast kept current, and the low point flagged before it arrives
  • A standing monthly call, and me on the end of the phone between them
  • Your numbers in a client portal, with the model still in your own workbook
  • Scoped to what the verdict found. No lock-in: stop any month

This month’s noteCash is comfortable through week 7. The one decision this month is the second project hire: it fits if the retention releases in November as scheduled.

FAQ

Before you book.

Q01How is the price set?

By scope. The verdict names what’s worth fixing, and I quote the fix as one fixed fee on the walkthrough call. It’s never hourly, so a question never costs you anything.

Q02Do my books need to be clean first?

No. The verdict already shows which numbers can be trusted and which can’t, and the quote is written from that, so nothing about the data is a surprise after you commit. If the books themselves need doing properly, bookkeeping starts with your first month free. See bookkeeping prices.

Q03How much of my time does it take?

Usually two to five hours across the whole project: the walkthrough, a few questions along the way, and the handover. The build happens on my side.

Q04What do I own at the end?

Everything it produces. The model lives in your own Excel or Google Sheets, with every formula and assumption visible, so there’s nothing to subscribe to and nothing that stops working if you stop working with me.

Q05Couldn’t my team, or AI, build this?

They can draft it. The work is in whether it’s built from the right numbers, whether the assumptions hold, and whether it still reconciles when you stake a hire on it. That’s what you’re paying a CFO for, and it’s where most home-built models quietly go wrong.

Q06What if I want help after the build?

Then I stay on as your fractional CFO on a monthly fee, scoped to what you need, with no lock-in. See how the fractional CFO is priced. Or you run it yourself. Both are the project working as intended.
